It’s been a while and there’s a lot happened in our world since we posted any kind of blog. I’m not going to take your time telling you about the down time. The most important and respectful thing to do is to let those who follow us know the extremely sad and tragic news about Purdie.
Yes we lost her, it still hurts so very much to write about it so I’ll keep it short. Back in February 2019 she became poorly, went of her food and starting to rapidly lose weight. We had some tests done but within days and before the results came back, she deteriorated and so we had a scan. She never once complained or gave any signs she was in any pain but the scan showed she had a number of lumps growing in her intestine. One of these had clearly been closing the passage, hence her being sick and off her food. It was just a few days from the first signs of a problem to the result of the scan. On 7th February 2019, she had became so weak and poorly we had no choice but to make the absolutely heart breaking decision to say goodbye to her.
Purdie came to us at the age of three, abandoned and unloved, unable to settle in various homes. She spent four happy years with us, during which she undoubtedly came to know and feel real love. She knew she belonged with us and Sonny, so much so she never left our side. She loved her time in Spain and more than anything she loved the times we spent in the RV, she gave unconditional love back to us in spades. Her and Sonny formed an unbreakable bond. She was and will remain a massive part of our lives, we will love and remember her forever, sleep peacefully our beautiful little girl ‘Purdie’.

The whole Ruff Nomads thing came from the dynamic that Purdie, with Sonny, brought to our lives. Since losing her, writing these blogs just wasn’t the same. It may seem strange to some but we even struggled to get back on the road.
They say moving forward, is not the same as moving on. Well it sure felt like it for a while, but we put a picture of her up in the RV, we talk about her all the time and even now we shed a tear in her memory. Her spirit travelling with us and with Sonny as loving and loyal as ever, we did get back on the road and just before the world went mad, we embarked on a 6 month European Road Trip.
All the images and posts of that can be found on our FB and Instagram accounts. Head over there and take a look.
